Kathmandu, Nepal

In Nepal we land in Kathmandu, staying in the area called Boudha, where the impressive Boudhanath Stupa and many Tibetan monasteries are located. The Kathmandu valley is an important place along what was once known as the Silk Trading route, situated in a protected Himalayan Valley between Tibet and India.
It is here that I'm able to connect with all our partners including the group who produce the yak wool scarfs, blankets, and shawls. Yak wool is a very unique product made exclusively in Nepal. This particular co-op has been running for about 20 years, the attention to detail has impressed us so we now order thousands of pieces every year, for wholesale and retail customers wanting yak wool products.
Seeing the looms and the complete process was a privilege to see, something I will remember for a long time.
The incense, malas, prayer flags, and hemp backpacks and bags are also here in Kathmandu so we spend days connecting with all of our suppliers.
We are happy with the high quality Tibetan prayer flags that were sourced this trip. This helps us place larger orders to start working with our wholesale partners. The same with the wholesale hemp backpacks and bags. We have seen hundreds of styles among numerous suppliers, and have moved forward with one in particular that designs the mushroom print shoulder bag and also the hemp tie-dye backpacks.
It's been almost 6 months since returning from the Himalayas and we've imported massive amounts of merchandise through the summer, and the work continues thanks to the connections we made in 2024.
We will be closing the shop for our winter break Dec-Feb. Please feel free to reach out to us in the meantime as we are taking pre-orders and custom orders for 2025. Follow us on instagram @Everest.Traders, on Facebook, or here in the blog section.
